Miles of Meaning:

The Documentary

THE STORY

At its core, Miles of Meaning is more than just a documentary—it’s an invitation for audiences to reflect on their own potential, to push past their own barriers, and to believe that no dream is too big.

As a child, Dave McGillivray was told he wasn’t tall enough to be an athlete. Instead of letting that define him, he set out to prove that limitations are only as strong as the belief we give them. That mindset fueled a lifelong journey—one that would see him run across America at just 23, complete the Boston Marathon for over 50 consecutive years, and later become the race’s director, shaping one of the most prestigious marathons in the world.

Engage With The Project On Social Media!

Structured as an intimate journey, Miles of Meaning weaves together pivotal moments from Dave’s life—his triumphs, setbacks, and the lessons learned along the way. Through archival footage, firsthand accounts, and conversations with those who know him best, the film doesn’t just tell his story—it invites the audience to experience it.

This film is for the dreamers, the underdogs, and anyone who’s ever been told they’re not good enough—the runner pushing through their final mile, the entrepreneur chasing an impossible vision, the young athlete searching for their place, or the everyday person battling self-doubt. But Miles of Meaning isn’t just about inspiration—it’s about action. It challenges audiences to apply Dave’s mindset to their own lives, to set goals instead of limits, to redefine what’s possible, and to take that first step, no matter how impossible the road ahead may seem.

A NOTE FROM DAVE

For years, I’ve shared my journey with audiences across the country—on stage, in business, in philanthropy—always with the same mission: to help people believe in themselves. Whether it’s an athlete chasing a dream, an entrepreneur taking a risk, or someone simply trying to push past their own limits, I’ve seen firsthand how self-confidence can change lives.

I’ve spoken to over 1,400 audiences, and every time, I’m reminded of why this message matters. Anything is possible. Set goals, not limits. Never underestimate your own ability. It’s your game, so it’s your rules. Those words aren’t just something I say—they’re the truth that shaped my life.

But I can’t stand in every room. I can’t speak to everyone one-on-one. That’s why this documentary matters.

This film isn’t just about my journey—it’s about helping people see what’s possible in their own lives, especially the youth. It’s about inspiring confidence, resilience, and action. With your support, we can take this message even further.

We’re looking for partners who believe in this vision—who want to help us share this story and empower others to Move More, Read More, and Give More.

And with your help, we can do that.
